Seth Bonti-Asamoah is the Chairperson of SBA Oware Society Ghana, Interim President of the World Oware Federation (WOF), President of The Oware Society (OWS) and executive member of the International Federation for Pit and Pebble Games (IFPPG). In addition to these posts he is also a Vice President of the World Togyzqumalaq Federation.
He has been organising & promoting the competitive playing of Oware and other Pit & Pebble games since 1995. Hosting Oware tournaments from 1997 at the London Mind Sports Olympiad. Then the following year 1998 International Awale Tournament at the International Festival des Jeux, Cannes, France 🇫🇷. He has hosted these two tournaments annually to date.
In 2004 he was awarded the As’Dor award for services to the promotion of games at the International Cannes Festival des Jeux.
He has facilitated the hosting of other pit and pebble games: Bao, Mangala & Togyzqumalaq at the International Cannes Festival des Jeux in France 🇫🇷. Culminating in the inaugural Pit & Pebble Games Championship hosted at this event this year.
He has also participated in the Festiwale event (Auale Championship) is Catalonia, Spain 🇪🇸 in 1999. In 2005 he participated in the Swiss🇨🇭International Warri Tournaments at the Swiss Museum of Games.
In 2015, 2017 & 2023 he participated in the III, IV & VI World Togyzqumalaq tournament representing the UK 🇬🇧, in Almaty, Astana & Aktobe Kazakhstan 🇰🇿. At each of these events he also organised Open International Oware Tournaments the first in Central Asia. He also participated in the Togyzqumalaq European Open Cup tournaments at the International Festival des Jeux, Cannes France 🇫🇷 in 2018, 2019 2020.
In 2018 he participated in the III World Nomad Games, Oware & Togyzqumalaq Championships in Cholpon-ATA, Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬. In addition he organised the Grandmasters Oware Championship the first in Central Asia. As well as competing he was a major facilitator of player participation from across the globe.
This was followed by a facilitator role in the Nomad Universe - Ethno Festival Traditional Intellectual Sports Tournaments held in the Dahna Desert, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 in 2019, as part of the King Abdul Aziz Camel Festival. In 2019 he participated in the International Intellectual Games Tournament Toguz Korgool & Oware Championships, Poland Open 2019 in Poznan, Poland 🇵🇱 as a player and part of the organising team.
He is also a Mind Sports Olympiad Oware Master. Having won the Bronze, Silver & Gold medalist from the 2017, 2018 & 2019 Mind Sports Olympiad Oware Tournaments hosted in London UK 🇬🇧 respectively.
At the VI World Nomad games dubbed Astana 24 in Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, he was the chief arbiter of the Oware tournament and a facilitator of team participation in the Traditional Intellectual Sports Tournaments.
